Project Module rebuild

ITM are independent data consultants specialising in resolving intricate data challenges within the pension and insurance industry.

This is done through a combination of cutting-edge technology and expert knowledge. Their solutions result in significant cost savings, reduced risk and an enhanced customer experience for their clients. As such, the company understands the importance of clean and high-quality data and the role it plays in the financial sectors, particularly with the introduction of pension dashboards, which emphasises the need for impeccable data accuracy.

The client reached out to Haefele Software to build a module from scratch in their new cloud-based platform to allow them to move away from older technologies.

The work involved working on a hybrid basis with the client’s own team members, for example:

Liaising closely with the Product Owner to understand the business requirements and what was required from the new module.

Working with other internal teams to integrate with an existing application.

After working on this initial module, the Haefele team also completed work on another existing mobile within the same cloud-based platform. On a later piece of work, Haefele engaged with the client’s in-house QA function to provide consultancy on one of their key projects, identifying areas where they could continuously improve with practical suggestions that could be implemented.

01

Limited technical expertise

The internal team had gaps for the required technical expertise, particularly in emerging technologies crucial for the project's success. This knowledge gap posed a significant challenge as it hindered the team's ability to conceptualize and execute complex solutions effectively.

02

Limited resources and capacity of internal development team

The internal team faced multifaceted constraints, including limited manpower and time availability. With existing projects and responsibilities stretching their capacities thin, dedicating sufficient resources to the development of the solution became a daunting task.

03

Technical debt

Amidst the reconstruction of modules, integrating new features and functionalities presented its own set of challenges. Balancing the need for innovation with the project's timeline and budget constraints required careful consideration and strategic planning.
  • The client now has a module that gives them the potential to end-of-life older software that’s much easier to maintain in modern technologies such as .NET and AWS.
